I am Oscar Quesada. My profession is that of a fine
art oil painter. With a history of making works of art that goes
back 23 years,I have since amassed credentials in this field of
endeavor that well certify my art's statement of cultural intent.
My continuous study of specific interests in the fields of art has
brought me to a scholar's level in some aspects of art historical
understanding. I apply this to the developing of my full career
aspiration, which is to gain the inclusion of my work and deeds,
as yet another example in the continuation of American art history
as a reflection on world art histories. Maintaining residences and
studios in the cities of Los Angeles, Dallas and New Orleans, I
have been married to my wife, Leslee, since September of 1993. Much
of the actualizations of my professional career arose when we relocated
from Austin, Texas to San Francisco, California. While there, I
worked through the ranks of museum system to the center of action
during the reopening of The California Palace of the Legion of Honor
Museum. As liaison to the museum, I conversed with the likes of
many near legendary artists from San Francisco and abroad, as well
as celebrities and political dignitaries on a daily basis. On the
day after Christmas 1996, my art was collected by the curator, Steven
Nash. (The Resurgence of the Legion.) In southern California,
I set up a studio in Culver City that helped influence the art identity
of Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Since here, I have sold to individuals
from all walks and creative fields and it became my intention to
involve my art with all social levels in society. On February 11,
1998, my art work was collected by the curator of The Huntington
Museum and Library in San Marino, Jim Folsom. (The Corpse Flower
in Full Bloom.) As of recent, I have made excursions to open
up a scene that centers in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prospects in
this endeavor proved so beneficial that I have, with great help,
acquired a studio in the French Quarter district. I am so inspired
by the qualities and cultural richness of the indigenous people
in and around New Orleans. Thusly, I plan a life long return to
this area, so that I might pay homage with my art, encapsulation
my New Orleans experiences much in the same ways as I did with Austin,
San Francisco and Los Angeles. With Europe and in particular, Paris
on my horizon, I personally anticipate the compositions that I will
make over the next few years.
